About me
My name is Garrett Kolson (he/him). Originally from Maryland, I now reside in Manhattan, where you will often find me with a camera or behind a computer working in digital media + communications for progressive causes.
Most recently, I was the Digital Assistant for Antonio Delgado and India Walton’s campaign for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of New York.
I am a recent graduate of Fordham University (FCLC) in New York City, where I majored in Political Science with a minor in Peace and Justice Studies. In high school, I took on various leadership roles in communications and digital media, helping promote our annual food drives, clubs, and volunteer opportunities. I took this passion for social advocacy with me to New York, where I knocked on doors for Zohran Mamdani, volunteered with a local homeless advocacy organization, wrote about zoning laws and gentrification, and produced a short investigative documentary on the history of my apartment building and housing in my neighborhood.
I thrive in an environment where creativity, people-first politics, and digital media come together (and I’m no stranger to quick turnaround times and out-of-the-box solutions to challenging problems).
